5 at 5 Day 14

5.41 miles, 65 degrees, Sunny.

Rain storms moved through last night.  Enough to break the humidity.  Beautiful morning.

Woke up at 4:50.  I had a presentation in the city last night and didn’t get to sleep until midnight, so I rolled over and slept in until 6:30-7:00.

Buddy the old Wonder Dog felt good this morning.  He ran well and kept up.  I let him soak in the stream a bit.  The trails are firming up nicely.  The mud-holes are all passable.

I went the loop across the ridge and down by the pond.  I realized that I have been doing these 5 mile out and backs because I’ve been thinking too much about getting the distance in.  This morning I wanted to enjoy the run.  I like loops.

Loops have a sense of a journey to them.  Out and backs are too practical.  Too much about the distance and time.

More people on the trails later in the morning.

The day dawns with a bright sense of destiny.  A sense of greatness.

Cheers,

Chris,
