63 Days to Boston

63 Days to Boston

Had a good core workout today.  Got my schedule from Coach.  Looks like Yasso’s on Tuesday.  Recovery run Wed.  Core Thursday.  Longer intervals on Friday.  Easy run Saturday and a 2:30 long run on Sunday.  That’s a solid 50-mile week.

Feel pretty good.  My knees aren’t as achy today.  I have ceased doing those deep quad stretches because I think they were causing my knees to be crunchy.

My core workout was various core exercises as super sets – that means you do sets of the same exercise all in a row with very little rest.  You work the muscles to failure.  Ended up being about 45 minutes all told.

Then I did a quick yoga session for feet which didn’t go as well because my right foot was cramping up.

Started writing an article on how to ‘listen to your body’.  Flowed really well.  Just came to me.  Good thing because I’ve been lazy about writing over the last month.  With all the training and working and sleeping I’m having trouble getting motivated.

Tomorrow is another day.

Made a nice stir fry tonight.  I had to figure out what to do with the ingredients I had.  So I sautéed up a half a red onion in my cast iron pan as a base.  Then I threw in some old ginger that had been in the fridge for a while.  Then tossed in a big bowl of mushrooms and broccoli.  Cooked it with some dipping oil (sea salt and pepper) and some stock.

Came out very well with the ginger.  Tasted like some high-end Chinese food.

Cooked a squash too, but I think I over cooked it.

And, finally I made a batch of smoothies.  I was low on almond milk, so I used a lot of tart cherry juice.  Purple smoothies this week instead of green smoothies.
