5.07 Miles, 67 at start 71 at finish. Getting hot and humid.
Woke up at 4:45 with the sun and the birds. Should have gotten up. Face the day. Laid around for another hour or so.
Dog was dragging this morning. I think it was hot for him.
Over the weekend I got my run in both days. I did a hash run with the club on Saturday afternoon. I went out Sunday, yesterday, morning with Tim and Bob and a couple new folks. We did the pheasant farm, town forest loop. Ended up being around 8 1/2 miles.
Tim and I peeled off down a spur and through in some tempo for a mile or so out in the forest. Felt pretty good to stretch it out.
Not quite sure why I’m so tired today. Might be diet. I’m getting a bit heavy and I’m eating too many bad carbs. But it’s summer. You would think running every day would keep the chub off. It doesn’t. At my age you can’t outrun diet.
The old farmers, the Romans, they didn’t have alarm clocks. They adjusted their days with the seasons. The clock came into fashion with the industrial revolution. The factory bosses needed rigor and consistency. The whistle blew, the bell rang and it was time to tie yourself to the machines.
One of the heirlooms I inherited from my father’s father was a gold pocket watch. He worked on the rail road, back when the rail road was the internet. They needed the trains to run on time.
The mill needs it’s grist.
Felt super tired this morning. Super heavy. Legs tired. Going to be hot this week.
Going to try to ride my motorcycle to work every day. Save some gas! Have to go into the city tomorrow night and present to the Boston New Technology group. It’s the gong show format, right? You get 5 minutes. Bunch of startups, all doing their 5 minutes. Should be fun. I’m going to practice today.
Chris,
