Hi Chris.
I listened to the barefoot running girl’s section today and thought about running when I started in 1974. I had graduated from college and came to Boston for Graduate School. I ran to learn Boston. It was a great way to figure out the city. When I started to work (for Polaroid…remember them?) the plant I worked at (in New Bedford, MA) had alot of runners. Mostly men, but the company was so very liberal that they were focused on trying to ensure that men and women had equal opportunities. And they “walked the talk” (or ran the run.) I never felt unwelcome and learned to run with the guys. It just became part of my life. Now in my early 60’s I can’t imagine not running. I don’t have too many problems with injuries, although I bike (road an mountain) to balance things out. I’m far from an athlete. I’m slow, not competitive, and only do about 4-6 miles at the longest any more. I run a few small races for fun in New Hampshire now, and RunRunLive goes with me all the time.
I can sympathize on the Plantar Fascitis. Keep working, and know that your break will be over soon. You keep alot of us motivated. Maybe we can help you now??
You’ve already helped me today.
I recently found your podcast, been trying on a few running podcast and find myself coming back to yours. I enjoy the format, the guests and topics. Almost bailed out on the project beautiful show but glad I stuck with it. I live in northern NH and dreading the cold and ice that is on it’s way. Your podcast will help when I have to hit the treadmill.
keep up the good work.
Sounds like fun! What’s the goal length of the clip? Pacing, pacing, pacing – even in audio, right? 😉
It usually reads out at less than a minute. but if you’re adding value and having fun anything less than 2 is fine.
